The Most Versatile Security Token Available

A-Key® 4500 Token

A-Key 4500 Tokens

A-Key® 4500 tokens are the most versatile USB tokens available. Each A-Key® 4500 token can be used for both Challenge/Response and One-time Password authentication. All data stored on the A-Key® 4500 token is encrypted on the fly and the token itself is password- and brute force-protected: if someone repeatedly tries to log in to the token and fails, the token will automatically erase all user data and restore its factory default settings. This ensures that any information stored on an A-Key® 4500 token (passwords, Web credentials, certificates, documents, images, etc.) is safe from intrusion, loss and theft.

A-Key® 4500 tokens can be used as is, or they can come with pre-installed software that enables users to securely store digital certificates on the token and use them anywhere and to securely store Web logon credentials and automatically log in to Web sites without having to touch a computer keyboard.

A-Key® 4500 tokens are password protected: no one can access the token's functionality without correctly logging in. And because they are driverless, they can be taken and used anywhere without any software installation.

Log In With Your Security Token

Use your A-Key® 4500 token for Challenge/Response and One Time Password (OTP) Authentication.

Secure Storage

All files saved on the A-Key® 4500 token are encrypted on the fly using encryption functionality built into the secure USB flash drive's chip itself. No encryption application is installed on the drive that can be altered or erased.

Peace of Mind Against Loss or Theft

For added security in the event that the A-Key® 4500 token is lost or stolen, if someone tries to log in and fails a configurable number of times, the secure USB flash drive will automatically erase all user data and restore its factory default settings. This functionality is also built into the secure USB flash drive’s chip itself. It is not an application on the drive: it cannot be altered or erased.

Security Token Administrative Management

The A-Key® 4500 token contains the A-Key® Administrator Tool, through which administrators can control A-Key® 4500 token secure USB flash drive features.

  • Two Levels of Security Token Password Protection: User and Admin.

Assigning both levels of password protection enables administrators to lock down the administrative features of the token, while allowing anyone accessing the user account to be able to add and delete data and access any applications installed on the token. This feature is especially helpful for enterprise administrators who want to keep secure USB flash drive settings consistent across a wide deployment.

  • A-Key® Token Lock and Self Erase Security

Assigning passwords enables administrators to have finer control over brute force protection settings on their secure USB flash drives.

    • If an administrator password has not been assigned and anyone tries to log on and fails the defined number of times, the A-Key token secure USB flash drive will erase all user data it contains.
    • If an administrator password has been assigned and anyone tries to log on and fails a defined number of times, the A-Key token will lock and become unusable until an administrator unlocks it. All user data on the secure USB flash drive is still intact, and accessible with administrative login. This feature is especially helpful for enterprise administrators who want to recover data and settings on a token that has been left by en employee who has left the organization.
  • Erasing/Formatting An A-Key® Token Secure Flash Drive

A-Key token administrators and users can erase data on their secure USB flash drives in two ways:

    • Securely Delete All Data. This erases the secure USB flash drive and restores it to its original condition, which makes it ready for its next assignment.
    • Securely Delete Only Personal Files. This option only erases files you have added: it does not erase Authenex applications and related data (such as certificates, login accounts, etc.). Enterprise administrators can use this option to clear user data from a secure USB flash drive left behind by an ex-employee, while keeping the organization’s flash drive security settings intact.

Versatile, Secure Certificate Use and Web Logon Security

Optionally, My A-Key software and ACert software can be installed on A-Key® 4500 tokens. ACert software provides secure certificate storage and use. This enables A-Key® 4500 tokens to be used on any Windows 2000 or XP machine for any PKI-related activities, including Windows Smart card logon. My A-Key software enables the secure storage of secure Web site login credentials, as well as secure Web site log in. With My A-Key software, users can securely and automatically log in to Web sites without leaving log in credentials on the remote computer. And since My A-Key software and ACert software come pre-installed on A-Key® 4500 token, all users receive all the benefits of the token.
