Secure,
Versatile Login From Anywhere
A-Key®
3500 Token |
|
|
Easy
to deploy, convenient, A-Key® 3500 tokens enable users to
securely log in from anywhere in the world with both Challenge/Response
and One-time Password authentication from the same token.
A-Key® 3500 tokens
can be used as is, or they can come with pre-installed software
that enables users to securely store digital certificates
on the token and use them anywhere and to securely store Web
logon credentials and automatically log in to Web sites without
having to touch a computer keyboard. Unauthorized, brute-force
attempts to access A-Key® 3500 tokens cause the tokens to
erase all user data and return factory default settings. All
information stored on A-Key® 3500 tokens (passwords, Web credentials,
certificates, etc.) is stored on the chip for maximum security.
Small and lightweight,
each token is password protected: no one can access the token's
functionality without correctly logging in. And because they
are driverless, they can be taken and used anywhere without
any software installation. |

Log In With Your A-Key® 3500
Token
Use your A-Key®
3500 token for Challenge/Response and One Time Password
(OTP) Authentication. It will work with any A-type USB 1.1
or USB 2.0 port, USB hub, or USB extension cable connected
directly to a computer. However, it will not work with a
USB-to-PS/2 conversion adapter.

A-Key® Token Security
All certificates and Web site data
you save onto the A-Key® 3500 token are secured on the chip
itself. There is no way to access the data without first
authenticating. Unauthorized, brute-force attempts to access
A-Key® 3500 tokens cause the tokens to erase all user data
and return factory default settings. And if the chip is
tampered with, the data will be destroyed.

Peace of Mind Against Loss
or Theft
For added security in the event that
the A-Key® 3500 token is lost
or stolen, if someone tries to log in and fails a configurable
number of times, the token will automatically erase all
certificates and passwords and restore its factory default
settings. This functionality is also built into the token’s
chip itself. It is not an application on the token: it cannot
be altered or erased.

A-Key® Token Administrative
Management
The A-Key®
3500 token contains the A-Key®
Administrator Tool, through which administrators can control
A-Key® 3500 token features.
-
Two Levels of Secure Password
Protection: User and Admin.
Assigning both levels of password
protection enables administrators to lock down the administrative
features of the token, while allowing anyone accessing
the user account to be able to add and delete certificates,
etc. and access any applications installed on the token.
This feature is especially helpful for enterprise administrators
who want to keep secure access
token settings consistent across a wide deployment.
-
A-Key® 3500 Token Lock and
Self Erase Security
Assigning passwords enables administrators
to have finer control over brute force protection settings
on their secure access tokens.
- If an administrator password
has not been assigned and anyone tries to log on and
fails the defined number of times, the A-Key®
3500 token will erase all user data it contains.
- If an administrator password
has been assigned and anyone tries to log on and fails
a defined number of times, the A-Key®
3500 token will lock and become unusable until an
administrator unlocks it. All user data on the token
is still intact, and accessible with administrative
login. This feature is especially helpful for enterprise
administrators who want to recover data and settings
on a token that has been left by en employee who has
left the organization.
- Erasing/Formatting An
A-Key® 3500 Token
A-Key token administrators and
users can erase data on their secure access tokens in
two ways:
- Securely Delete All Data.
This erases the token and restores it to its original
condition, which makes it ready for its next assignment.
- Securely Delete Only Personal
Files. This option only erases passwords, certificates
and Web credentials that have been added. It does
not erase Authenex applications and related data (such
as certificates, login accounts, etc.). Enterprise
administrators can use this option to clear user data
from a secure access token left behind by an ex-employee,
while keeping the organization’s secure access token
security settings intact.
